We live on a large wooded lot and recently did a major house remodel which required pulling up a lot of our existing lighting that was over 15 years old. Joe came out on a Saturday and did a complete and thorough walk around of our lot, asking questions about what we wanted and also making suggestions. Joe is an artist whose palette is light! He replaced our “standard” (mediocre) driveway path lights with downlights strategically located in trees resulting in a dreamy, soft-lit approach to our house. Joe was simply awesome to work with on our project! We put him against our estimate & demo from Carolina Outdoor Lighting, and Lite Visions won out in every way. He had these great up/down lights which worked perfectly for our pergola structures, which simply wasn’t an option from the competition. He also had RGB Bluetooth controlled spotlights to flood the forest behind our property, where the competition had only white and non controllable. The addition of color back there is so much fun and we really look forward to using it during parties & BBQs!
During install Joe was quick, efficient and cleaned up after completion. All of the wires were hid as much as possible and left in a tidy order. The little things impressed us too, like adding a rose filter to the Japanese Maple light to enhance the color, or diffusion filters to reduce glare, etc. We also got to hear lots of awesome stories from his concert days!!
For literally the same price as competition, we got a wide variety of lights perfectly suited to the project, excellent service, and can rest easy that the lights suddenly won’t work next year because of a shoddy install.

His attention to detail along with your input and preferences, will be heard, acknowledged and brought to LIGHT. This project of lighting our long, otherwise nearly invisible driveway, has made all the difference by safely and artistically lighting our driveway for guests and us down to our house from the street nearly 175′. It also enhances the beautiful mature hardwood trees with beautiful and yet subtle warmth. The Bluetooth app makes setting and changing the time for the lights to turn on/off a breeze. I spent many years travelling in the music industry doing lighting for bands.When I decided to stop travelling 10 months out of the year and was talking to a friend who was in the outdoor lighting industry he convinced me that outdoor lighting design would be a natural transition for me,as I was already lighting up structures only on stages.

I started out many years ago working for a neighbor whose kids I grew up with in a beach band called the Embers,that set the stage for working with a local group that had a record out called Nantucket and another Raleigh band who had several records out Glassmoon. I was in Atlanta doing a show and called a friend with a production company to eat lunch and it was a turning point in my career,he offered me a tour with a group called Kool and the Gang,not only would I be a technician setting up themassive concert lighting,but I would get to operate lighting for several opening bands including KC and the Sunshine band. Over the years I was fortunate to work in all generes of music from rock to country to pop and even got to tour with WWF wrestling and the holiday sensation Trans Siberian Orchestra.

I am writing this blog after taking out several old and poorly installed outdoor landscape lighting systems this year.Good Outdoor Landscape Lighting Isn’t Cheap, Cheap Outdoor Landscape Lighting Isn’t Good.
I swear one of the lighting fixtures were made so poorly it felt like an aluminum beer can,see photos below.I felt bad the homeowner had spent so much money and trusted this person to install quality fixtures that would not have to completely replaced in only 3 years time. These same fixtures were almost impossible to re lamp. When I have a customer say” we decided to go with someone else who had a cheaper price ” it scares me for them. I can only try to educate the customers about the difference in fixtures,lamps and installers who sometimes can’t even troubleshoot their own installs, but do not install proper waterproof connections or do great wiring jobs. I just had the nicest compliment from a customer the other day while doing an annual maintenance and cleaning and adjusting lights for growth. She said,I can’t believe we have not had any problems with our outdoor lighting. My background as a concert lighting tech taught me if you do things properly you will never have a problem. That is why I stand behind my installs 100% and use the best products in the outdoor lighting business. Some of these fixtures do not even have any type manufacture tag in them due to the fact they are not proud of their CHEAP fixtures and do not want a name on them.
