Some compliments stay with you. When a client sits down to describe what Lite Visions did for their home, the word that keeps coming up isn’t “bright” or “installed.” It’s “artist.” Here are a few recent favorites from homeowners across the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, in their own words.
“A creative artist, a lighting luminary”
“Joe is not just a lighting installer, he’s a creative artist, a lighting luminary! He produces ambiences that illicit positive emotions with each experience.” — a client
That same client noticed where it all comes from:
“Most may not know this, but Joe ran concert lighting for some the highest acclaimed musical artist in sold out arenas, hence his unique and experiential approach to landscaping lighting.” — a client
Joe spent more than 35 years lighting concert and theatrical stages before bringing that eye home to the Triangle. On a stage, nothing is lit by accident. The same is true in your garden.
“An eye for what looks good, without being over the top”
“Great experience with Joe, a true artist! His many years of working with concert and theater lighting gives him a unique perspective and eye for what looks good – without being over the top.” — a client
Restraint is the signature. Joe works in warm 2700 Kelvin light at soft, low levels, with no glare, so your home glows rather than shouts. As this client described it, “Joe placed several soft lights high in the trees, aimed downward that gave our yard a whole new perspective.”
“He most definitely paints a picture”
“There are technicians, and there are artists – and Joe is an artist.” — a client
“Joe works with what I would call a “soft palette” – he fills in spaces with light and with balance. He most definitely “paints a picture” The resultant effect is calming to the spirit and beautiful to the eye.” — a client
Joe thinks of fixtures the way a painter thinks of a brush: something lit, something left in shadow, then something lit again, so a walk across your property feels like moving through scenes.
“An artist whose palette is light”
“Joe is an artist whose palette is light! He replaced our “standard” (mediocre) driveway path lights with downlight strategically located in trees resulting in a dreamy, soft-lit approach to our house.” — Sally B.
A dreamy, soft-lit approach is exactly the goal. No runway of path lights, just moonlight-like downlighting filtering through the canopy.
Your Property, Composed by Hand
Every Lite Visions project starts with Joe walking your property in daylight to see what’s there and what should go. He designs every system himself, and he’s the last one on site making the final nighttime adjustments. Lite Visions is locally owned, not a franchise, and lighting is the only thing we do. Featured in the book Masters of Landscape Lighting (2026), Joe brings that same care to homes from North Raleigh and Wake Forest to Durham and Chapel Hill.
If you’d like your landscape lit by an artist, call Joe at Nine one Nine-518-9950 or email litevisionsrdu@gmail.com to schedule a design consultation.
